Archery Squad Trials Hit Target

THE Hunter Academy of Sport inaugural archery talent development squad was chosen after a selection trial held at the Maitland Showground "Feral Archery" Indoor Archery Range last Monday night.
This trial was very well attended and indicates a great deal of interest and participation in the sport of archery in the Hunter Region.The coaching staff are Peter Fairhall and Lynne Fairhall. The squad orientation meeting was held in the archery pavilion in Maitland Showground on Saturday, September 17. The first squad session training session was held immediately after the orientation meeting. ? Ten members of the 2005-2006 academy netball squad will be represent the academy at the inaugural Academy Games Netball Tournament. This tournament is being played at Bridgecoast Stadium at Erina on October 5 and 6.The academy coaching staff has organised two training sessions for the girls prior to the academy games. The first of these is on Saturday, September 24 from 9am to 12 noon and the second on Monday, October 3 from 2pm to 5pm. ? The academy netball selection camp and final selection trial for the 2005-2006 netball squad will be held at the Lakeside Association Courts, Merleview Street, Belmont on October 22-23 (selection camp) and October 29 (final selection). ? During the latter part of 2005 and early in 2006 the academy will be conduct a netball umpires talent development program for young and developing umpires. This program is designed to assist and encourage (mainly) young people who are showing talent and dedication with respect to netball umpiring.
