RISING Tide Newcastle protesters were described as "extremist" and "feral" yesterday by Premier Morris Iemma, who has apparently not forgotten two of them jumping on his car during the March election campaign.
Mr Iemma told a Sydney press conference "feral protesters" would be dealt with by police if they caused a disturbance at the APEC summit. When asked what he meant by "feral" Mr Iemma cited Rising Tide: "They're extremist groups, you saw it, you know some of them they attacked my car during the election campaign," he said.Rising Tide Newcastle spokesman Steve Phillips said yesterday the group would not attend APEC protests.
